DEVIL & THE BLACKBERRY
BARREL FERMENTED SAISON
According to legend, when Lucifer was cast out of heaven, he fell onto a blackberry bush, whereupon he cursed the fruit for eternity. This is a saison fermented in a Pinot Barrel w/ blackberries. Now that’s evil!
We aged our Primeval Hoppy Brown ale in Elijah Craig 12 Year bourbon barrels for 3 months. Cocoa, toffee, candied citrus, rich malt, vanilla, oak, dreams and unicorns.
SCOTTISH EXPORT ALE
Aromas of toffee, nuts, and dark fruit from rich and chewy English malts balance nicely with a slightly sweet but dry bread crust finish. Recipe by our brewer/eye candy Sean Rubbo.
We collaborated with our friends at Fatheads Brewing on this huge, fruit and piney Belgo-American IPA. Loads of boutique hops and high fermentation temps epically conjoin the best of both worlds.
JASMINE RICE SAISION
Brewed with over 100 lbs of Jasmine Rice , this beer was a pain to brew. But the huge spicy, floral and fruity aromas and flavors and a super dry finish make this beer well worth the effort.
GR. GRANDPA’S BREAKFAST
COCOA/BOURBON IMP. STOUT
Our Iniquitous Imperial Stout with bourbon infused cocoa nibs—chocolate, bourbon & vanilla dominate. And just like Great Grandpa himself, it’s a lot meaner than it looks.
Brewed with 100% pils malt w/ Pacific NW grown Citra & Amarillo hops, Everlight delivers huge citrus & tropical aromas that compliments the fruity and spicy Belgian yeast.
In·iq·ui·tous: grossly unfair and morally wrong. Example: an iniquitous double version of our Noble Oatmeal Stout. Synonyms: black, dark, evil, immoral, bad, vicious, villainous, wicked. First Use: 1726.
BELGIAN DARK W/ ORANGE PEEL
Brewed for Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers festival, Dark Buffalo is a Belgo-American dark ale brewed with Cara cara oranges with hints of cocoa & dark fruits with a crisp & dry finish.
UNCUT AMERICAN LAGER
Collaboratively brewed for the Craft Brewers Conference with Ecliptic, Gigantic, Old Town, Burnside, Basecamp, Lompoc & Widmer, it tastes like the greatest cheap beer you’ve ever had in the 80’s!
BELGIAN BLOND ALE
Delight is a Belgian style blond ale with big aromas of Honeycrisp apple, sweet bread & candied orange with a dry and warming finish. A beer designed to leave a smile on your face!
INDIA PALE LAGER
Western IPL is a hopped up version of our Eastside pilsner. We added a ton of Cascade hops to bring out big notes of grapefruit, pine and hop spice and a touch of crystal malt to sweeten things up.
Like the sweet and soothing melodies of the world’s greatest performer, we blend nectar from the Oregon state fruit with the mellow & crisp flavors of our Eastside Pilsner!
Did you know the state beverage in Oregon is not beer, but milk? We’re offended too. But that just encouraged us to milkify beer by adding milk sugar to our Noble Stout!
DOUG E FRESH
DOUG FIR IPA
We love the Oregon outdoors and we love IPAs. So we smashed the two together into an intense flavorsplosion of citrus, resin and woodiness by aging our Invincible IPA on Douglas Fir.
Just like the famous mustachioed man himself, this beer is just plain nuts. We added fresh hazelnut press cake to our Thunderbolt Porter to celebrate the Oregon state nut!
With huge aromas of bubblegum, fruit, spice and perfume, Trickster starts like a Belgian amber saison and finishes like an American pale ale. Cascade hops give it that classic West Coast kick!
INVINCIBLE IPA w/ BRETT
A very small batch of our Invincible IPA fermented w/ Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, instead of our house ale yeast. This wild Belgian yeast adds huge flavors of pineapple & mango with a slight rustic tartness.
ROBUST PORTER w/ VANILLA BEAN
Our first Cask beer! We took our Thunderbolt Oatmeal Porter and cask-conditioned it with fresh whole vanilla beans. Super aromatic and slightly chewy with flavors of bitter cocoa, nuts and sweet vanilla.
OLD BLOOD & GUTS
American Barleywine aged in Elijah Craig 12 Year bourbon barrels. Flavors of oak and vanilla bring balance & complexity. Also available in bottles to go for $12.
THE GREAT BEAR
BEECHWOOD AGED RED ALE
Brewed for Portland’s Holiday Ale Fest, we aged our Arctos Winter Red on German Beechwood leftover from our taproom buildout—sweet malt, wood, spice and pine throughout.
OLD BLOOD & GUTS
Rich british malts and loads of NW hops make a big, but balanced, barleywine style ale. This beer finishes dry with a subtle alcohol spice that lingers…think of it as a big ‘ol cuddly bear hug of a beer.
THE CROSBY SHOW NITRO
We partnered with our friends at Crosby Hop Farms for this one-off session IPA. They came up with a secret hop blend and let us test-drive it in our brewhouse. Sshhh, it’s a secret!
Fresh Hop Ultbier
Cold-fermented German style alt with 80 lbs of fresh Ultra hops. Malt flavors of sweet bread and toast balance with the floral, spicy and grassy crispness that can only come rom freshly picked hops.
Our Ultra Summer Ale with Organic Lemonade. Light, crisp, refreshing and thirst-quenching, it goes great with the typically Rad Portland summer! Part of our ongoing Infusion Series.
BROWN ALE & SOUR BLEND
For our Grand Opening Extravaganzacon we blended a barrel-aged sour with our Primeval Brown Ale. Northwest Brown Ale with a sour attitude, if us and an Oud Bruin had a baby, this would be it!
NOBLE STOUT w/ COFFEE
For our Grand Opening Extravaganzacon we added cold-pressed Cellar Door coffee to our Noble Oatmeal Stout. Part of our ongoing Infusion Series. Should sporadically return to the taproom.
BEACHWOOD AGED CREAM ALE
For our Grand Opening Extravaganzacon we aged our Cavalier Classic Cream Ale on German beachwood scraps leftover from our bartop, tables and benches. This one may come back someday!
